Some EchoVideo features can be turned on or off at the Institution level. When disabled, the features that users typically see and that are described in the Online Help are unavailable.
Institution-level feature toggles are accessed by clicking the Settings icon - it looks like a gear and is located to the right of your name at the top of the EchoVideo page. Then select Institution Settings. General settings appears and Basic Info is selected by default. Select Features or Section Features.
The Feature Toggle switches are segregated into two tabs:
- The Features tab lists all the settings, categorized by type, that affect the entire institution.
- The Section Features tab lists the settings that affect things like downloads and Q&A at multiple levels, down to the Section level (configurable by an Instructor) if Allow overrides is checked.
- Most Section Feature toggles are configurable at the Organization or Department level. Select the Org or Dept from the list on the left to configure features for that hierarchy level.
- The Beta & Preview Features tab lists all settings available to test and preview before the Public Rollout Date.
IMPORTANT: All features described in the topics linked below are available to enable or disable at the institution level. Some are also available at lower hierarchical levels, including organization, department, and section. Understand that enabling or disabling a feature at a higher level also sets the default for that feature at the lower levels; use the Allow override checkbox to determine if the setting can be changed at a lower level.

Beta & Preview Feature Toggles
These features are significant enough to impact workflows or integrations, so instead of rolling them out directly as General Availability (GA), we are giving you the option to opt-in and experience them before the official cutover.
Preview features are fully tested, GA-ready features. You should not expect any stability, reliability, bugs, etc. type of issues that you might encounter with Beta features.
Beta features are new features that are still in the testing phase. Beta features specifically titled as Betas may have bugs or issues. Institutions who opt into beta testing are encouraged to reach out to us to report problems, and general feedback to help us continue to improve the feature.
