The features in the Feature Spotlight are significant enough to impact workflows or integrations, so instead of rolling them out directly as General Availability (GA), we allow you to opt in and experience them before the official cutover.

The features in the Feature Spotlight are thoroughly tested, GA-ready features. You should not expect any stability, reliability, bugs, etc., issues you might encounter with Beta features.

EchoPlayer Consolidated Version with New UI

The player has been updated to be consistent across all player implementations. If you opt-in, it will be the player you see when accessing a Classroom, the Media Details page, an Embed, the Editors, etc., with the same interface and controls in all areas of EchoVideo except for Live.

1. Log into EchoVideo as an Institutional Administrator.
2. Click Settings in the upper-right corner of the screen.
3. From the Settings menu, select Institution Settings.

   General settings appears and Basic Info is selected by default.

4. Click Feature Spotlight from the middle panel.
5. Turn on the EchoPlayer Consolidated Version with New UI toggle (the default setting depends on your region), as shown in the figure below.
   
6. Review the warning message and click Confirm.

For each sub-feature, you must first turn on EchoPlayer Consolidated Version with New UI (Opt In / Opt Out).

H5P Links

We have built an integration to allow users with H5P accounts to create public links and use their EchoVideo content within H5P.

To turn on H5P Links

1. Turn on the H5P toggle (off by default), as shown in the figure below.
   

Folders

Folders are an organizational tool in EchoVideo that makes organizing, finding, and managing content easier. Folders allow you to create a structured hierarchy, including subfolders, to aid in navigating and managing media efficiently. Properly organized folders can make searching for and locating specific content easier. Easily set folder permissions, restricting access content to authorized users only.

To turn on Folders

1. Turn on the Folders toggle (off by default), as shown in the figure below.
   
2. Review the warning message and click Confirm.

Live Player

When toggled on, the consolidated version of the player is activated for live classes.

To turn on the updated Player for Live Classes

1. Turn on the Live Player toggle (off by default), as shown in the figure below.
   
2. Review the warning message and click Confirm.

Media Details Page

Turns on the new version of the Media Details page for content accessed everywhere except from within a Collection.

To turn on the updated Media Details pages

1. Turn on the Media Details Page toggle (off by default), as shown in the figure below.
   
2. Review the warning message and click Confirm.

Dynamic Branding

Dynamic Branding provides configurable intro / outro / watermark media associated with a player style. After enabling Dynamic Branding, the branding media and player styles must be configured. Once turned on, it cannot be turned off.

To turn on dynamic branding

1. Turn on the Dynamic Branding (Beta) toggle (off by default), as shown in the figure below.
   
2. Review the warning message and click Confirm.

Automated Gradebook Sync (LTI 1.3)

Automated Gradebook Sync (LTI 1.3) integrates and synchronizes data between EchoVideo and your Learning Management System (LMS). This process helps streamline instructors' administrative workload and ensures that student performance data is accurate and up-to-date.

To turn on Automatic Gradebook Sync (LTI 1.3)

1. Turn on the toggle for Automatic Gradebook Sync (LTI 1.3), it is off by default, as shown in the figure below.
   
2. Review the warning message and click Confirm.
