This article walks you through registering an Epiphan Pearl device with EchoVideo. Once registered, the device can be assigned to a Room, scheduled for recordings, and monitored centrally — just like any other capture device in your EchoVideo tenant.
For an overview of the Epiphan integration, see: Epiphan Integration Overview
Prerequisites
Before beginning registration, complete the following required steps:
- Ensure the device is powered on and connected to the network.
- Ensure your workstation is connected to the same network / subnet as the device.
- Ensure your device:
- Is registered with Epiphan (this is separate from EchoVideo registration).
- Is using Epiphan firmware version 4.24.5 or later.
- Have EchoVideo Administrator credentials and Configuration permissions available.
For the smoothest setup and testing experience, it is recommended to use a simple unmanaged switch and avoid VPN connections or segmented VLANs during initial configuration.

Best Practices
- Use direct IP access during initial setup.
- Keep firmware current before integrations.
- Test locally before moving devices into production VLANs.
- Document device IPs, admin credentials, and EchoVideo mappings.
- Clearly label devices in EchoVideo for easier administration.
