The Learners tab in My Reports shows everyone in your institution, along with their email address, average score, and the number of courses they are in. It is an easy way to spot who is active, who might need support, and how learners are doing overall. Click any learner row to see more details, including their exam scores, course enrollments, and performance on tagged metadata. You must be logged into ExamExam as an admin or instructor to view the Learners tab.
Scores
The Scores tab lists all exams the learner has taken, including the exam name, date, completion status, associated course, total points earned, and the learner’s score. This view makes it easy to review the learner’s performance across all completed exams, sort results by column, and identify trends such as low scores, missing points, or consistent progress. Instructors can use this table to quickly understand how a learner is performing across their coursework.
Clicking on an exam opens the Exam Details. Clicking a course opens it.
The Scores table supports sorting by any column, and the search bar helps you quickly locate a specific exam. You can adjust how many rows appear on the page by using the dropdown below the table, choosing from 25, 50, 100, or 250 results. A CSV download option is also available if you want to export the data.
Exam Details
The Exam Details page offers two views that help you quickly understand how your class performed. Together, they make it easy to see where students excelled, which questions caused the most trouble, and what areas may need additional review, all while giving you simple tools to focus on the information that matters most.
Session Details
The Session Details tab shows each learner’s score and how they answered every question, so you can quickly spot patterns like missed questions or unanswered items. Search for a specific learner or use the dropdown to filter by All participants, Known Learners, or Guests.
By Question
The By Question tab focuses on the exam itself, showing one question at a time. It displays the prompt, answer choices, how many learners selected each option, the total points for the question, and the number of correct responses. Use the filters or search box to control what you see. Slide Type lets you switch between All Slides, Question Slides, or Presentation Slides. Participants lets you view All Responders or refine the list.
Courses
The Courses tab lists all courses the learner is enrolled in, along with their average exam score and the total number of exams taken in each course. This view provides a quick snapshot of where the learner is active and how they are performing across different subjects. Clicking a course name opens that course.

Metadata
The Metadata tab allows you to break down a learner’s performance using the metadata tags that were added to exam questions. This tab is similar to the Performance by Metadata view in the Exam Report. You can choose which tags to include, set the performance thresholds, and then see details of the selected learner's performance, average roster performance, and total performance range across all learners on the exam
All data is based solely on the exams the learner actually took, ensuring comparisons are accurate. Each instructor can set up their own view for each learner, and you can filter results to quickly see which tags are On Track, Need Review, or At Risk.
The Performance by Metadata card is empty by default. To add metadata performance:
-
Click Select Metadata.
The Select Metadata modal opens.
-
Set the At Risk Threshold and Review Threshold, then click Next, as shown in the figure below.
The Review Threshold must be higher than the At Risk Threshold, although they can be set to the same value. If both thresholds match, the Needs Review category will not be displayed. Only On Track or At Risk will appear.
- Search for metadata using the search bar.
-
Use the checkboxes to select one or more metadata tags, as shown in the figure below.
- Click Save, as shown in the figure above.
Once you set up the report, each metadata tag displays several performance metrics.
- Range - Shows the lowest and highest scores earned on questions with that tag, based only on the exams the learner actually took. This helps you compare the learner’s results with their peers using accurate, like-for-like data.
- Average - Shows the class’s average percentage for all tagged questions from the exams the learner participated in. Questions from exams the learner did not take are not included.
- Learner - Displays the learner’s own percentage score across all questions with that tag that they interacted with.
- Points - Shows how many points the learner earned out of the total possible points for all tagged questions they answered.
-
Status - Each tag is labeled as On Track, Needs Review, or At Risk based on the thresholds you set.
- On Track means the score is above the review threshold.
- Needs Review falls between the review and at risk thresholds.
- At Risk is below the at risk threshold.
