The EchoVideo Pro and EchoVideo Pod are dedicated capture appliances designed to be used for ad hoc or scheduled recordings in dedicated teaching venues with static (and sometimes complex) Audio/Video setups. These appliances can capture full-motion output from a variety of devices, including document cameras, electronic whiteboards, and computers (PC and Mac).

In general, we recommend purchasing one device for testing purposes in a classroom environment prior to making any large orders.

End of Support for SafeCapture HD
April 1st, 2020: End of Software Support. EchoVideo will no longer provide software updates for the SCHD appliance. This policy applies to enhancements, bug fixes, and security patches. EchoVideo will continue to test SCHD appliances with improving versions of the EchoVideo cloud platform until the End of Life date. In addition, the EchoVideo Support Team will continue to assist customers with configuring and managing SCHD appliances until the End of Life date.
December 30th, 2020: End of Life. EchoVideo will no longer ensure functionality of the SCHD appliance in any way. EchoVideo will no longer test the SCHD on new cloud service releases and the EchoVideo Support Team will no longer continue to diagnose or solve issues impacting SCHD units still in the field at that time.

USB camera support for the Pod

The EchoVideo Pod supports the use of USB cameras (plugged into Channel 2 of the appliance). Besides the cameras listed in the below table, the Pod generally supports the use of any UVC (USB video class) cameras that provide 1280x720 resolution with 30 fps (frames per second) and MJPEG. The Pod, however, is smart enough to be able to detect whether the camera plugged into the USB port is compatible and will let you know if it is not. See Using USB Cameras with the Pod for more information.

Tested USB Webcams

The following table includes USB webcams that have been tested in-house by EchoVideo. As indicated above and elsewhere, as long as the camera meets the supported standards and specifications documented, it should work. But as always, perform test captures prior to making bulk purchases of cameras, to ensure your cameras work as expected.
