For any completed exam, instructors can award bonus or penalty points that affect the overall exam score, individual attempt scores, or specific questions. Learner scores will be adjusted based on the instructor's bonus and penalty points, allowing a more tailored evaluation of each learner's performance.
Edit a Learner's Overall Score

Access the Exam Report in one of the following ways:
- Click on the Exam name from My Reports.
- Click on the View Results action for an exam in My Reports.
- Click the Results button from the Course > Exams section for a completed exam.
- Click on the exam name from the Course > Results > Results section.
- Click on the Results action for an exam in Course > Results > Results section.
- Click on the exam status from the Course > Results > Scores section (in the column heading).
The Exam Report is defaulted to the Summary tab.
- Click the Learners tab.
The Learners tab has four sections. For more details, see EchoExam: Exam Summary Report - Learners.
- Select the learner from the Learner dropdown.
- Optionally, select the attempt from the Attempt dropdown.
- Click Edit Score.
- Select the Edit Mode.
- Edit Final Score - If you edit the learner's final score, you cannot edit individual attempt or question points.
- Edit Score by Attempt - If you edit individual attempts for the learner, the bonus and penalty points will be applied to the exam attempt along with any bonus or penalty points for individual questions.
This option is only available for exams and learners with multiple attempts.
- Add Bonus Points to increase the learner's score for the question.

Add Penalty Points to decrease the learner’s score for the question.

Add Notes to provide explanations for the adjustments made to the grade.
You can Enable notes for each attempt. It is disabled by default.
- Click Save.
Under Attempt Details, the Points Score and Attempt Score are displayed with an asterisk on the report for the instructor (the learner does not see this).
Clicking / hovering the asterisks by the Points Score and Attempt Score shows a tooltip with the original score, bonus or penalty points added, the instructor’s note, and the user, date, and time the change was made.
Edit a Learner's Individual Question's Score
