Exam works with your ExamView Desktop content. You can import any ExamView .bnk file into EchoExam to begin using it to create tests. You must be logged in to EchoExam to import question banks.
EchoExam will not import answer information for Short Answer and Essay questions. Yes / No questions from ExamView will be imported as True / False questions with the appropriate answer options. Completion questions from ExamView will be imported as Short Answer questions. Problem, Case, and Other questions from ExamView will be imported as Essay questions. Numeric Response questions will only support integer and decimal responses. Numeric Response questions with other response requirements (e.g., fractions) will be imported as Short Answer.

Click Create and select Import.
The Import Questions and Tests modal opens.
- Select Import BNK or TST File.
- Click Continue.

Drag and drop a file or click browse to select files, as shown in the figure below.

Navigate to where the file you want to upload resides, then follow the prompts.
ExamView Question Banks v1 and newer are supported. Imports can have a maximum file size of 10MB. If multiple files are selected, the limit is checked against the total file size for the selected files.
- Optionally, click to Add more files.
- Optionally, hover over the file you added and click Remove.

Click Import, as shown in the figure below.
Your import will process in the background as you work. Depending on the size of your files, it may take a few minutes to process. You will receive an email when your import has been completed successfully. If experiencing an ExamView .bnk file that will not import, ensure that it meets the above criteria and contact support for additional assistance.
- Click Close.
After processing, the imported question bank(s) will appear in My Library > Question Banks. Once added, you can open your question bank to edit the questions, rename, duplicate, or delete the question bank.
