EchoVideo previously offered mobile applications for Windows 10, Windows 10 Mobile, Xbox One, and Amazon Kindle Fire devices. Although these apps remain available through their respective app stores, they are no longer actively developed or updated and offer a more limited feature set than the current EchoVideo apps for iOS and Android.
If you are using an iOS or Android device, please refer to the main EchoVideo: Mobile Apps article for the most current experience.
Windows App (Windows 10 PC, Windows 10 Mobile, and Xbox One)
The EchoVideo Windows app is available from the Microsoft Store and can be installed on Windows 10 PCs, Windows 10 Mobile devices, and Xbox One consoles. While the app is still available, it is no longer actively developed and supports only basic EchoVideo viewing features.
You can use the Windows app to:
- Sign in to your EchoVideo account.
- Browse your enrolled sections and classes.
- Watch recorded class videos and presentations.
The Windows app does not include many of the features available in the current iOS and Android apps. The following features are not supported:
- Q&A
- Notes and Study Guide
- Downloading content for offline viewing
- Showing or hiding slides (instructor feature)
- Uploading videos
- Administrator features
- Watching live-streamed classes
Note: Since the Windows app is no longer actively maintained, it may not work correctly with newer versions of Windows or the latest EchoVideo platform updates. For the most reliable experience and access to all EchoVideo features, use a supported web browser on your Windows device.
Amazon Kindle App
The EchoVideo app is available for Amazon Kindle Fire devices from the Amazon Appstore. Although the app is still available for download, it is no longer actively developed and only supports basic EchoVideo viewing features.
You can use the Kindle app to:
- Sign in to your EchoVideo account.
- Browse your enrolled sections and classes.
- Watch recorded class videos and presentations.
The Kindle app does not include many of the features available in the current iOS and Android apps. The following features are not supported:
- Q&A
- Notes and Study Guide
- Downloading content for offline viewing
- Uploading videos
- Administrator features
- Watching live-streamed classes
Note: Since the Kindle app is no longer actively maintained, it may not work correctly with recent EchoVideo platform updates. For the best experience and access to the latest EchoVideo features, use the Silk browser to access EchoVideo directly through your institution's EchoVideo URL.
Important Information for LMS Users
If you access EchoVideo through a Learning Management System (LMS) such as Blackboard, Canvas, Moodle, D2L, or Sakai, there are two things you must know before using any EchoVideo mobile app:
- You will need a direct EchoVideo password. Your LMS login will not work in the app. Use your LMS / institution email address to create or set an EchoVideo password.
- You must establish an LMS presence through a browser. If your instructor exports class engagement data to the LMS gradebook, you must click the EchoVideo link from each LMS course at least once through a browser. This ensures your participation is correctly recorded in the gradebook.
For full details, see EchoVideo: Mobile Apps and LMS / VLE Users.
Viewing Live Streams
None of the EchoVideo mobile apps support live-streamed classes, including the Windows and Kindle apps. To watch a live stream, use a native mobile or desktop browser and navigate to your EchoVideo section. Once the live stream has ended and the recording is published, you can view it through the app.
