What determines what shows up in My Activity or Team Activity on the Home Page?
The following activities show up in My Activity and Team Activity:
- Notifications about new courses
- Notifications about completed courses
- Notifications when feedback given by that user is resolved (if you have Content Feedback turned on)
You must have Learning Pathways to see Learning Pathways Notifications in My Activity. You will only see Team Activity if you are a manager or supervisor with a team in Learning Pathways.
We use SSO to direct users to the Library tab. Do we need to change the redirect link for users to see the Home tab?
The link to access the Home tab is https://app.inkling.com/s/siteSlug. If their redirect link goes to https://siteSlug.read.inkling.com/read/ then they need to redirect it to use the homepage. The home page will still be visible in the Navigation Bar at the top, under Home. No additional links should change.
How many Featured Content items display at a time? Is there a limit to the number of Featured Content items we can have?
We show up to 4 featured content items on the Home Page on the web, and one on mobile. On the View All page, we show up to 10 featured content. You can select Load more to load another 10, and so on. There is no limit, but the feature is intended for fresh, important content. We have built an expiration feature so customers can ensure the content does not become outdated.
Featured content can be targeted to Audiences, so what User A sees on the Home Page can be different from User B. This allows you to be really specific about which content you want to spotlight for which users.
When should I use Message-only Featured Content instead of linking to an Inkdoc?
Message-only Featured Content is intended for short pieces of information to send to your learners, such as an announcement or an alert. It is not intended to replace an Inkdoc or to provide the detailed information users want to access later.
Featured Content is not searchable. If you want the information in your Featured Content to be searchable and available to learners at a specific time, we recommend adding it to an Inkdoc and linking to the Inkdoc in the Featured Content.
What order does the Featured Content display in?
Featured content displays the most recently updated or created featured content first.
How do I push out featured content to users?
Create a new featured content item, then select Publish. Featured content is now live!
Do customers need an image for Featured Content?
Yes. This is required.
Is Featured Content searchable?
No. It is not, and it is not planned. We are looking into what this would take for the future.
How long is Expired Featured Content kept / archived?
For the end user, expired featured content is never displayed. For the authors, expired content currently lives indefinitely, but you can delete draft Featured Content items. We are exploring how to delete expired featured content going forward. If this is needed, we can perform a delete internally.
Can you Update / Edit Featured Content that has been published?
Yes. You can edit published Featured Content, and it will bump it to the top of the list.
As for the content inside a Featured Content, which points to published Inkdocs and Inkdoc pages, you can edit the Inkdocs as usual and republish, and the latest published version will display in any Featured Content referring to that page.
Is there a way to unexpired / republish Featured Content that has been Expired?
No. You must recreate it. You can update a published featured content item, and it will appear as new again, even if end users have already read the previous version.
How are users notified of new Featured Content?
Featured content displays on the home page within 30 minutes (at most) of it being created.
Featured content is sorted by New. The first 4 pieces of featured content appear on the Home page, and when you click View All, you see all featured content on that page, also sorted by New. Urgent content is displayed with an Urgent tag.
We currently do not notify users of content that is about to expire.
How can I submit feedback on Featured Content?
Talk to your EchoInk representative, or send us an email at support@echo360.com. We love hearing from our customers about how we can improve. We use your feedback to shape the future of EchoInk products.
