You can access the notices dashboard by clicking the Notices button at the top of your Habitat dashboard.
Your account must be configured with the Notices Admin permission. A User Admin in your organization can enable the Notices Admin permission via the People tab in Habitat for users who will create and send notices.
On your Notices dashboard, you can filter between:
- Sent: All notices that have been sent within your organization
- Draft: Saved notices that have not been sent
- Expired: Previously sent notices that are no longer visible to end users
Creating a New Notice

Add a title and message.
- Optionally change priority to add an urgent tag to your notice.
Optionally, view the live preview to get a sense of how the notices will appear to end users.
Tip The notice title is the text that will display in a user's list of notices before clicking in to see more detailed information. The title text limit is 90 characters.
Choose your document from a dropdown list of published documents in your organization, or search for a document by title or shortname.
Tip The recipients of the notice will exactly match the distribution of the selected InkDoc.
Optionally, use the page dropdown to select a specific page link.
Note: Pages appear in the document's TOC order, or you can search by page or chapter title.
If you do not select a specific page, the link will direct users to the first page in the InkDoc.
Click the Send button to send the notice to your users, or click the Save draft button to save it for later.
Your sent notice will appear at the top of the notices list in your dashboard.
Viewing a Sent Notice
View the full content of a notice by clicking on a sent notice from the dashboard list.
The notice detail page also includes the date and time the notice was sent, as well as the percentage of recipients who have viewed it.
Advanced Analytics users can view individual notice activity in Tableau, including which users have viewed a notice and clicked through to the Inkdoc. These views are available in the new Notice Views and Click-throughs workbook.
Expiring a Notice
Click the Expire Notice button to revoke access to a notice. End users will no longer see this notice in their notices feed. Notices admins will still be able to reference the notice in the Expired Notices dashboard view.
Sent notices will automatically expire after 6 months.
