To configure the integration, you need to work with Echo360's support team. Email support@echo360.com to inform us that you would like to configure the LMS integration. Provide the LMS type you would like to integrate with and the URL for your organization.
Configure Integration
Use the steps below to configure your organization's Echo360 integration with Blackboard. This process ensures your organization is correctly set up and connected to the appropriate data region.
- Click the link provided by Echo360 support.

Click Get Started.
- Enter your email address and click Continue.
- Create a password and click Register.
- Optionally, Enable 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication) or click Skip This Step.
- Review the Terms of Service and select I have read and agree to the terms above.
- Click Continue.
- Search for your school, district, or university by name, city, or ZIP code.
- Select your organization.
- If your district does not appear in the search, click Create {organization name from search} + New Organization.
- To edit your organization's name, click Change.
- Click Continue.
- Select Blackboard.
- Choose the data region where your data will be stored.
- Click Confirm.

In the box provided, Enter Your Blackboard URL.
Turn the REST API Integration On
To complete the Blackboard REST API Integration, you’ll need to copy and paste information from the Configure Integration setup.
- Log in to Blackboard as a System Administrator.
- Go to the Admin tab.
- Under Integrations, click Rest API Integrations.
- Click Create Integration.
- Enter the Application ID provided by Echo360 into Application ID.

Click Browse to locate and select a Learn User.
TIP
We recommend using an IT or Support group user account. - Leave End User Access marked yes and change Authorized To Act As User to Yes, as shown in the figure above.
- Click Submit.
- Switch to the open tab from Configure Integration, then select Mark as Complete.

Click Connect to connect your Blackboard account.
NOTE
You may be prompted to log in to Blackboard. -
To validate your configuration, click Validate Configuration.
The validation results should include the following positive results:
• Can make a connection • Can access terms • Can access courses • Can access users - Click Continue Setup.

Verify the Blackboard Field Mapping and click Save Mapping.

Click Skip Data Enrichment.
Your new integration is complete.
Activate Integration
Echo360 support must activate your integration. Email support@echo360.com to let us know you have completed the Configuration and REST API Integration steps and that your integration is ready for activation.
Our integration provider facilitates communication between Echo360 and Blackboard Our provider syncs course and roster data from Blackboard between one and four times per day. You may see delays in data updates of up to 24 hours when courses are created or edited in Blackboard, or when learners are added or removed from a course roster in Blackboard.
Set Up the LTI 1.3 Link
Continue using the same Blackboard Admin browser tab from the previous steps to complete the LTI 1.3 link.
- Click Admin in the left menu.
- Under Integrations, select LTI Tool Providers.
- Select Register LTI 1.3/Advantage Tool.

Enter the Client ID provided by Echo360, as shown in the figure below.
- Click Submit, as shown in the figure above.
- Select the arrow next to the tool you just created and click Edit.
- Copy the Default Deployment ID.

To integrate with EchoExam, you must include the following Tool Provider Custom Parameters:
product_type=ECHO_EXAM
Note: One LTI link can only be used for one product (either EchoExam or EchoPoll).
- Return to Edlink and navigate to the Manage section.

Select Integrations.
The Summary tab opens by default.
- Under SSO Configuration, select the LTI 1.3 tab.
- Paste the Client ID provided by Echo360 from Step 4 into the correct field.
- Paste the Deployment ID from Step 8, copied from Blackboard
- Click Update.
- Return to Blackboard Admin and navigate to Course > Integrations > LTI Tool Providers to add a placement so that LTI is visible.
- Look for the LTI tool you created in Step 4 above.
- Select the arrow next to the LTI tool, then click Approve.
- Select the arrow next to the LTI tool, then click Manage Placements.
- Click on Create Placement.
- In the Label field, enter the name you want to be visible on your course.
- In the Handle field, enter a unique name that identifies the placement.
- Select Course Tool and turn on Allow student access.
- Turn on Launch in New Window.

Add the EchoExam icon URL.

- Go to the Edlink dashboard, select the integration, and copy the Quick Login URL from the Integration Summary page.
- In Blackboard, in the Target Link URI paste the URL you copied in step 25.
If using the EchoExam customer parameter, confirm it appears in the Tool Provider Customer Parameter box under Target Link URI. - Click Submit.
Your LTI link should be available now under ‘Books and Tools’ inside your Blackboard Ultra course
Once your Blackboard Integration has been configured, instructors in your organization can link their individual EchoExam and Blackboard accounts and connect their courses.
