Group Recording activities in GoReact allow multiple participants to record together in a single session, supporting up to nine people at once. They are designed for group presentations, discussions, and collaborative projects, where each participant’s contribution is captured in a single recording. Instructors can enable Group Recording within a Standard activity so team members can join the live session and submit a single shared video. This makes it easy to assess collaboration and provide targeted feedback on group work.
Grades are passed back to the LMS (Canvas, Blackboard, etc.) for group sessions. The same grade is passed back for each participant. If you need the grades to be different for each participant, they must be entered manually.
- You must be logged in to GoReact, created an activity, and toggled on the New Activity View.
-
Select the activity, then click Activity Preview, as shown in the figure below.
- Click EDIT TASKS, as shown in the figure above.
- Optionally, add + Task Instructions.
-
Select the Group recording session box, as shown in the figure below.
- Click SAVE & CLOSE.
- Switch back to Instructor Overview.
Set Up a Group
If the activity is set to Private, then users can only join a recording if they are listed as a Participant. If this is the case, the user who starts the recording will need to add the other Participants prior to clicking Record.
To save time on presentation day, you can set these groups up beforehand. To do this, click Start Activity, enter each user's name in the Participants field, and click Save for Later.
If you have created these groups before, when participants are ready to record, they will log in to GoReact and join the recording by clicking Join on their dashboard.
For more information on how participants will record, see Group recording with multiple participants.
