After creating a new session, you can make that individual media available or unavailable immediately. This controls whether students can view the item, but leaves the content in the folder, which leaves the analytics data intact (removing content from a folder also removes the student view / analytic information). Instructors can always see media in a folder.
If your institution, organization, or section is set to Delay availability for closed captions videos are unavailable for student viewing until they have closed captions, and you cannot manually make the item available. It must have closed captions before the system will allow students to view it, to ensure that hearing students who do not require closed captions are not at a significant advantage. If you believe this setting should not be enabled or has been inadvertently activated, please contact your administrator.
- Navigate to the Sessions tab of a folder.
Find the session whose availability you want to change and click Media, as shown in the figure below.
Select Availability Settings, as shown in the figure above.
The Media Availability modal opens.
From the Session Status dropdown, select Unavailable.
- Click Update.
The availability status of the media changes immediately, although any students currently viewing the session will not notice a difference until they exit the player and re-enter. Similarly, students currently viewing the folder will also not notice a difference until they refresh the Sessions list or exit the folder and return. Repeat the above steps to make the media available.
