If enabled by your instructor, a question may require you to input an equation as an answer during an exam. Equations are available as an answer option for the following question types.
- Essay
- Numeric Response
- Short Answer
To complete a question with an equation as an answer

- Click f(x) Add Response, as shown in the figure above.
The equation editor opens.
- Choose a tab.
- Select a function from the tab.
- Use your device keyboard to enter the equation.
- Click Save.
The equation displays under the question.
- Click Edit to edit your answer, as shown in the figure below.
- Click Delete to delete your answer, as shown in the figure above.
- Complete the exam.
- Click f(x) Add Response, as shown in the figure above.
