BUILDING BLOCK END-OF-LIFE ANNOUNCEMENT
As of
30 Dec 2024, the Anthology (Blackboard) Building Block
will officially reach its end of life for use with EchoVideo.
Prior to the end-of-life date of December 30th, 2024, all
Building
Block content must be converted to LTI 1.1 Deep Links. For more information
from Anthology, please see
Convert Building Block Content to LTI.
For more information from us, please see
Building Block to LTI Migration Overview
and
Converting Blackboard Building Block Content to LTI 1.1 Deep Links.
NOTE that while migrating to LTI 1.3 may appear to be an option within Blackboard,
it has not been fully tested by us. We are only supporting migrating to LTI 1.1.
Customers who use Blackboard / Anthology and have the EchoVideo legacy building block content can now convert that content using the conversion tool within Blackboard. The content conversion tool was developed by Anthology (Blackboard) in conjunction with EchoVideo (and other key video partners). The purpose of the conversion tool is to ensure a smoother transition experience ahead of the Building Block removal in Learn configurations.
The conversion tool supports the Building Block content present within the iframe including:
- Course tools content
- Mashup links within the content editor
- Content links added in student submission and feedback
For administrators: For optimal performance, select a maximum of two semesters during the content conversion process. If the same course contains content from multiple EchoVideo building blocks, the conversion process must be performed once for each building block.
