As long as your Moodle Administrator has installed the EchoVideo Plugin and Filter for Moodle and configured Moodle to allow students to embed media from EchoVideo, all you have to do as an instructor is create a Moodle Assignment the way you ordinarily do.
The only setting that is required specific to video embeds is to select Online Text as a Submission type.
Once a student submits EchoVideo media as a response to a Moodle Assignment, that media is locked down on the EchoVideo side. The student cannot edit or delete the media once it is locked (an EchoVideo administrator can delete the media if necessary).
After submission, you can view the student's EchoVideo media submissions from within the assignment grading area of the Moodle interface. Note that the below procedure is provided as a guide. If you need further instructions or assistance, please refer to your Moodle documentation.
To view student EchoVideo media submissions for an assignment
- Open your Moodle course, and select the Assignment activity you want to grade.
- Click View all submissions.
- Each student who has submitted a response is listed. Click Grade for the student whose submission you want to view.
- The embedded EchoVideo media appears on the student submission page. Click the Play icon to view the media. The standard grading options are located below the media.
If you do NOT see the embedded media or cannot play it back on the submission page, contact your Moodle Administrator. Your administrator must have upgraded to the newest EchoVideo plugin AND installed the accompanying Filter for student media submissions to be viewable within the grading interface in Moodle.
