EchoVideo has developed mobile applications that allow Instructors, Teaching Assistants, and Students to view classes, including videos and presentations, and upload videos to their libraries using their smartphones or tablets. See the Quick Guide to the Mobile Apps for an overview of the available features.
While the interfaces between the apps differ slightly, the basic navigation and core functionality are the same across platforms, except for the Windows mobile app, which currently provides only core classroom viewing functionality. It does not support discussions, notes, download / offline viewing, or show / hide slides feature for instructors.
The mobile apps do not support administrator functionality or viewing Live-streamed classes; you must use a native mobile or desktop browser to view live streams. You can view the completed video once it is published.
The EchoVideo Mobile App is available for the following platforms:
- The Android app is supported on Android 10 (API 29) and higher. It is available from the Google Play Store.
- The iOS app is supported on iOS 16 or later. It is available from the iTunes App Store.
Support for legacy apps on Windows and Amazon Kindle can be found in EchoVideo: Legacy Mobile Apps (Windows & Kindle)
Before using the EchoVideo mobile app through your LMS, know these two things:
- If you typically access EchoVideo through an LMS (Blackboard, Moodle, Canvas, D2L, or Sakai), you must create an EchoVideo password to use the app. Your EchoVideo login will use your LMS / Institution email address.
- If your instructor exports EchoVideo class engagement data to the LMS gradebook, you must click the EchoVideo link from each LMS course at least once through a browser. This establishes your presence through each LMS course to EchoVideo and ensures that your participation in the EchoVideo section is properly exported to the LMS Gradebook.
If you are an LMS user, you are strongly encouraged to review the information in Mobile Apps and LMS Users.
