Copyright Updates & Improvements

New Administration Page

All Copyright Policy information has been consolidated onto its own tab within EchoVideo administration.

Global Copyrights vs Additional Copyrights

Public Domain and Creative Commons copyright licenses have now been grouped under one Global Licenses tab.

New, manually added copyright licenses can now be created under the Additional Licenses tab.

Media Details Page Updates

The Permissions tab has been reordered, showing the Access and Permission settings at the top of the page. Additionally, the options to Restrict Downloads and Restrict Unauthenticated viewing are no longer dependent on copyright license declaration.

The Copyright Settings area now only displays the licenses that are actively applied. Adding or removing licenses is done through the Manage Copyright Licenses tab.

Editing of media ownership has moved to the side panel.

Declaration on Upload

When turning on this new toggle, a copyright must be selected prior to uploading content into EchoVideo.

Legal Page

The main Legal page has new sub-navigation to display all Copyright licenses configured within the Institution.

Additional Improvements

Downloads Page Enhancements

The downloads page within EchoVideo is now available to all users by default. Whether users see anything in addition to the Mobile application is dependent on user role and Institution toggles.

Students & TAs can additionally have Universal Capture: Personal based on the Institution Settings toggle.

Transcript Disclaimer

Institutions now have the ability to set a global transcript disclaimer that will appear in the player when viewing the transcript.

Media Embeds No Longer Have Engagement Bar

Embedded media now focuses on the player itself, no longer displaying the white engagement bar below content.

Fixes

We now prevent a Course / Section from being deleted while an ongoing live stream is occurring.
