Discussions in the mobile app let you communicate with your instructor and classmates directly within the media. You can ask questions, share ideas, and join course conversations without leaving the content. Depending on your instructor's setup, you can create posts, reply to discussions, and view activity while watching recordings or presentations. Discussions are linked to specific moments in the media, adding context and enhancing collaboration around course content.
The Discussion tab lists any statements, questions, or responses already posted to the class. If there are none yet, the page will display There are no discussions, as shown in the image above.
Add a Discussion Post
- Click Add at the top right of your class view, as shown in the image below.
- By default, Discussion Post is selected from the Add new dropdown, as shown in the image below.
- Tap inside the text box and type your entry.
- Optionally,
- Toggle on Hide my Name to hide your name on this post from other students. Instructors will always see who posted any question or response.
- Use the Reference Content slider to reference the video timecode or slide.
- Select the Paperclip to add a file from your device's camera roll.
- Choose Add Comment.
Once entered, your post appears along with any other posts to the class.
Respond to a Discussion Post
- From the Discussion tab, find the post to respond to and tap on Reply, as shown in the image below.
- Tap inside the text box and type your response.
- Optionally,
- Toggle on Hide my Name to hide your name on this post from other students. Instructors will always see who posted any question or response.
- Select the Paperclip to add a file from your device's camera roll.
- Choose Send.
Once entered, your post appears along with any other posts to the class. Tap the thumbs-up to like the post.
Edit or Delete a Discussion Post / Reply
To edit or delete any discussion post or reply you entered, open the Discussions tab of the class. Only the individual who created the post can modify it.
Swipe left on the question to choose Edit or Delete the question as appropriate.
- Edit - Opens the Edit Reply modal where you can update the text. Click Done when finished.
- Delete - Prompts you to confirm whether you want to delete the post / reply. Click Yes to delete it.
If you delete the original post, all replies are also deleted.
