The EchoVideo mobile app allows you to view media transcripts while watching recordings. Transcripts provide a text version of the spoken content, making it easier to follow along, review material, locate specific topics, and improve accessibility without leaving the media player.
Note: Transcripts are only available if they have been enabled or generated for the media. If the Transcript tab is not available, a transcript may not exist for that recording.
View the Transcript
When you are watching media in the player, you can tap on the Transcript tab to reveal the transcript, which will appear just below the media player. This feature allows you to read the text version of the spoken content while you view the video or listen to the audio.
As the recording progresses, the transcript will automatically scroll to keep pace with the audio or video. The section of the transcript that corresponds to the current spoken words is highlighted, making it easy for you to follow along in real-time and understand exactly what is being said at any moment.
Search the Transcript
To efficiently find specific words or phrases within the recording, utilize the Search field located at the top of the transcript. This tool is designed to help you quickly navigate the content without reading the entire transcript manually.
When you begin typing in the Search field, matching transcript entries are displayed in real-time. This feature allows you to instantly see relevant sections related to your query, making it much easier and faster to locate the precise information you are looking for within the transcript.
Navigate Using the Transcript
Each entry in the transcript is carefully synchronized with the corresponding segment of the recording. This synchronization ensures that the text matches the audio or video content precisely, allowing for a seamless connection between what is heard and what is read.
By selecting any specific transcript entry, users can instantly jump to that exact moment in the media. This feature makes it incredibly convenient to review specific parts of the discussion or revisit critical information without having to manually search the entire recording. It enhances the overall user experience by providing quick and easy navigation through the content.
Download the Transcript
If your instructor or educational institution permits the downloading of transcripts, you can easily save a copy of the transcript to your device. To do this, simply tap the Download icon located next to the search field. This action will allow you to download and store the transcript file for your personal use or future reference.
However, if you do not see the Download icon, it means transcript downloads are not turned on or available for that particular media. In such cases, you will not be able to save a copy of the transcript directly from the platform.
