Features, Improvements, and Fixes
These Release Notes contain a summary of changes made for the July 01-02, 2026, release of EchoVideo. For changes made in previous deployments, visit the Deployment Notes section of our Knowledge Base or contact support@echo360.com.
Features
Live Stream Alerts
To enable faster incident response, administrators can now enable email alerts notifying them of the failure of a Live Stream and when it becomes available again.
AskEcho: New Toggles
We are empowering creators with greater control by decoupling Study Aid features from AskEcho, allowing you to create resources manually, and introducing a new toggle for viewer visibility.
Study Aids
Study Aids are now available for instructors to create and manage themselves, without needing AskEcho access. Instructors can manually add and edit resources such as summaries, FAQs, study cards, and quizzes, while AskEcho is now used only for AI-generated content where it is enabled. New visibility controls also let instructors decide when these resources are shown to students, ensuring learners see instructor-vetted materials.
Improvements
Universal Capture Updates (NA and APAC Customers only)
-
Security Update: OpenSSL 3.5
Universal Capture and all device platforms have been upgraded to OpenSSL 3.5.4, ensuring continued security and compliance as OpenSSL 3.0 approaches end-of-life.
The latest Universal Capture version is now 6.0.871908088.
Note: We will be performing a further update to Universal Capture during the next deployment window at the end of July which will include updated certificates. In preparation, we are asking that all customers review the following pages EchoVideo: Universal Capture and Antivirus Software to ensure that they have performed any review of their security tools in use.
Accessibility Updates
We are committed to an inclusive experience for all users, ensuring that critical navigation and management tools are fully accessible via keyboard and screen readers.
To ensure full compliance with accessibility standards, we updated the Edit and Delete buttons on the dashboard to include proper semantic roles for screen reader users.
To improve navigation for assistive technology users, we resolved an issue where the Classes video menu could not be opened using the Enter key with certain screen readers.
Fixes
- To restore full library management capabilities, we fixed a bug where the "Edit Media" option was incorrectly greyed out when using the Library List View.
