Navigate to the Teams page under the People tab in Habitat to begin creating or managing teams using the Dynamic Teams settings.
Dynamic Teams are derived automatically from rules you create based on user attributes.
To create a new dynamic team rule, follow the steps below:
- Navigate to the Teams page.
Click Create a team rule.
This will bring you to the rule creation screen, where you can define the rule(s) to be used by the dynamic team assignment.
Select a User Pool
You have two main options for selecting which users will be targeted by the rule:
- All users
- A subset of users
Click the pencil icon to open the Select User Pool menu to get started.
Selecting All users will place all existing users into the teams created by your dynamic team rule.
Selecting A subset of users allows you to define specific conditions a user must meet to be selected (e.g., department, job title, office).
Group Users into Teams Using Attributes
You can select up to 3 attributes to group your users by. These attributes are pre-determined by your user data.
Additionally, you can combine equivalent values to prevent users from being separated from an appropriate team because of a single value outside the rule.
Click Combine values for more information. The teams created based on your rule will be updated as you select grouping attributes.
