This article describes the identification codes and temporary password that you set up for user authentication. Your users might need to enter one or more of these identifiers when requesting access to a Habitat project or an EchoInk application.
Organization Code
The organization code identifies your organization in the EchoInk platform and is generally a concise version of your company’s name or initials. For example, Renerva, Ockham, or ABC. Your EchoInk representative helps you set up this code during the initial onboarding process.
New users requesting access to a Habitat project must include the organization code in their request. For more information, see Add Habitat users by user request.
Company Code
Your organization might have multiple EchoInk sites, each with its own branding and a unique company code. The company code enables your EchoInk mobile app users to access their content.
The company code is a string of characters that users enter during their initial login during account setup. We recommend picking a code that is short, simple, and all lowercase. Your EchoInk representative will confirm that your preferred company code is available.
Company codes are case-insensitive.

Create a Temporary Password
Your organization’s temporary password is a string of alphanumeric characters.
If your organization does not use SAML 2.0 SSO authentication, EchoInk uses this password to verify the initial registration of EchoInk users. After a user enters a correct temporary password during the initial login to an EchoInk app and passes the authentication step, EchoInk prompts the user to create a unique password and stores it with the user’s account.
We recommend choosing a short, easy-to-communicate temporary password.
Temporary passwords are case sensitive.

If a user administrator forgets to select the Give this new user access to Habitat checkbox when creating a new Habitat user, that user may need to provide the temporary password during their initial Habitat login (if they have not already changed it in EchoInk).
