Revoking access to a course only prevents it from being assigned to anyone going forward. It does not remove preexisting course assignments for that course. To remove prior course assignments, refer to Remove Assignment For A Course.
As part of the normal lifecycle of knowledge and course content, you may need to revoke access to a course so it can no longer be assigned to new users.
For example, imagine you are a content author who has just finished creating a new onboarding course. This new course is designed to replace an older course with out-of-date content. To ensure that no new hires are assigned to the old course, you will want to revoke access to the older course, effectively disabling anyone in your organization from assigning it to users in the future.
When you revoke a course, that course can no longer be assigned to learners.
To revoke field access to a course
- Log in to Habitat and go to the Courses tab.
- Select the name of the course you need to revoke.
- At the bottom of the course details, click the Revoke Field Access button.
This will move the Course to the Revoked Courses section on the dashboard, and will prevent managers in the field from assigning this course going forward.
The action of revoking a course cannot be reversed at this time. If you would like to Publish a revoked course, you will need to create a new version of the course.
