After you have created a course, you can view it (as well as any other courses in your organization) by clicking on the Courses tab in Habitat. Each course will be placed into one of three sections:
- Draft Courses: These are courses that have been created via the Create a new course button, but have not yet been Published. These courses cannot yet be assigned to users.
- Published Courses: Courses created and finalized via the Publish button. These courses are ready to be assigned to users.
- Revoked Courses: Courses that have been created and finalized via the Publish button. However, they have since been Revoked from being assigned to new users.
Edit a Draft Course
Clicking the title of a Draft Course on the Courses tab in Habitat will allow you to edit the course name, description, steps, and details. You can then add or remove Course Steps and change their order.
Once you have finished editing a course in Draft status, you can click the blue Publish button to save it and make it available for assignment. You can also click the Save Draft button to save your changes without publishing the course.
After publishing a Course, the Course will move from the Draft Courses section of the dashboard to the Published Courses section.
Edit a Published Course
Clicking on the title of a course in the Published Courses section will bring you to the Course Details page for that particular course. From here, you can make modifications to the course by clicking on the Edit Course button.
After making an edit, the green Published button will change to a white Save & Publish button. Clicking this button will save and publish the course with your changes.
What Will Users See When I Edit and Re-Publish A Course?
If you have updated an Inkdoc linked within a course step, this content will remain up to date in the course (even if the course was assigned to learners before the Inkdoc update).
The Link to Inkdoc step is dynamic; any course that links to an Inkdoc as a step will always show the most recent published version of that Inkdoc.
New Users: Users newly assigned to the course will see the edited course going forward.
Users Who Already Completed The Course: Users who have already completed the course will see the version of the course published at the time it was assigned to them. If you want to ensure they retake the course to view the modified course descriptions or course steps, the course will need to be reassigned.
Users Who Have Been Assigned The Course, But Not Yet Completed It: Users who have not yet completed the course will see the version of the course that was published at the time the course was assigned to them.\
| Edited Course Title | Edited Course Description | Edited Steps | Edited Inkdoc Content (Linked) | |
|---|---|---|---|---|

| Users Who Already Completed Course | ||||
| Users Assigned Course, Not Yet Completed |
If you need learners to retake the latest version of a course, you can reassign courses to them.
