The EchoInk Collections feature enables you to group Inkdocs into logical categories that your end users can view in their EchoInk library.
You can add an Inkdoc to one or more collections to ensure that the Inkdoc’s information is available to all the users who need it. For example, a store could have these collections:
- Customer Service
- Store Employee Guides
- Store Manager Guides
- Store Operations Procedures
In this scenario, you could:
- Assign all Inkdocs about general policies and procedures to the Store Operations Procedures collection, and then share specific policy and procedure information with the other collections, as applicable.
- Share Inkdocs about employee information between the employee and manager collections so that managers have the same information available to their staff.
Configure Collections for Your Organization
Your Inkling representative creates the collection tiles that display on the Add to Collections page of your Inkdocs and also sets the tile display order for the Inkling reader application. Contact your organization’s Inkling administrator or your Inkling representative about adding the Inkling Collections feature to your Habitat experience.
Your representative can also help you with administrative tasks like:
- Changing the title or color of a collection tile.
- Changing the display order of the collection tiles.
- Deleting a collection.
EchoInk supports up to 20 Collections.
Assign an Inkdoc to a Collection
You must have Admin permissions on an Inkdoc to access the Add to Collections page.
Click Export and Distribute to access the Add to Collections page.
- Select the checkbox in the upper left corner of a collection tile.
- The Reset Changes button reverts the page to its previous state. Click this button to deselect all selected collections that you haven’t yet saved.
- You can add the Inkdocto multiple collections.
- Click Apply Changes.
In the Inkling reader application, the Inkdoc’s published Inkdoc appears in the assigned collection or collections. All end users who have been granted reading access will see the Inkdoc in the COLLECTIONS section of their reader app. Inkdocs without an assigned collection will still appear in the ALL INKDOCS section of the reader app.

In the Inkling reader application, the Inkdoc no longer appears in the collection or collections. All end users who have been granted reading access will not see the Inkdoc in the COLLECTIONS section of their reader app. However, Inkdocs will still be visible to readers with appropriate permissions in the ALL INKDOCS section of the reader app, even if they do not appear in a collection.
