Configure basic assessment settings, including the minimum passing score, maximum retries, assessment identifiers, and other data.
- Select Edit next to SCORE & SETTINGS.
Select a Passing Score.
This field divides 100% by the number of questions that you add to the assessment. For example, if you create five questions, each question is worth 20%.
- Indicate how many times a user can attempt the assessment in the Retry Setting.
- If you select Limited Retries, also specify a value in Max Number of Retries.
- If you select No Retries, Limited Retries, or Retry Until Pass, anonymous users receive unlimited attempts because EchoInk cannot track their retries. See also Reset an Assessment for important information on setting these options.
- Enter a unique Assessment Title to more easily identify the particular assessment in the Assessment Scores report.
- Enter a unique Assessment ID to more easily identify the particular assessment in the Assessment Scores report. If you integrate assessment widgets with a learning record system (LRS), enter the unique ID assigned to this specific assessment.
- Select a Language to update the assessment's interface text to the applicable language of your content. See Create translated content to see supported languages.
- Select an Answer Label style of Alpha Lowercase, Alpha Uppercase, Numeric, or None.
- Specify if you want the questions numbered and the starting numeric value.
- Specify if you want the questions randomized.
- Specify whether you want the answers hidden from the Pass Screen. This would prevent correct answers from being displayed on the confirmation / pass / fail screen after an Assessment is completed.
Optionally, set a highlight color that Habitat applies to both Drag & Drop and Hotspot labels.
You cannot set a different color for each question type.
Optionally, set the Send a course completion message when assessment is completed toggle to On to receive a notice when a user completes a particular assessment. We send a message when the user passes or fails the assessment. The table describes if and when a message is sent, depending on the specified Retry Setting.
Retry Setting Message Sent Limited Retries Message sent after the first attempt and every attempt afterwards that results in a higher score. For example, an assessment with three retries:
- First attempt results in a 70% score; message is sent
- Second attempt results in a 60% score; message isn’t sent.
- Third attempt results in an 85% score; message is sent.
No Retries Message sent every time user completes the assessment. Retry Until Pass Test Yourself No message sent. This means that any assessment set with Test Yourself does not generate data for the reports provided with the Insights functionality. The course completion message requires an active xAPI integration with your LMS or LRS. Contact your Inkling representative for more information about the course completion assessment functionality.
- Click Save.
Updating any settings on the Score and Settings page of an existing Assessment will reopen the assessment for all users. Previous scores will remain present in Advanced Analytics, but users will no longer see that they have taken that specific assessment.
