In the Edit Content view, you can rename, delete, add, and duplicate pages in the Table of Contents TOC using a context menu, as the image shows.
You cannot restructure the TOC or its information in the Edit Content view. You must use Configure Project > Edit Structure page to do this work. See Configure the Table of Contents.
Rename a Page
- Context-click on the page name in the TOC.
-
Click Rename and edit the page’s TOC name.
This action renames the page in the TOC but does not change its filename.
Delete a Page
- Context-click on the page name in the TOC.
- Click Delete.
-
Click OK to confirm the deletion.
Habitat deletes the page and refreshes the view, removing it from the TOC.
Once you delete a page and click Save, you cannot restore the page. Inkling maintains copies of deleted pages in our file storage. Select Support from the Habitat Services dropdown menu in the top-right corner if you need to recover a deleted page.
Add a Page
- Context-click on a page name in the TOC.
-
Click Add Page.
Habitat adds a page underneath the current page.
-
Enter a page title and click anywhere outside of the title area.
Habitat saves the new page.
Duplicate a Page
Use the Duplicate Page functionality to:
- Create a backup copy of the page before you make major revisions.
- Break a long page with multiple sections into several pages with fewer sections. For example, if you wanted to create three shorter pages from a long page, you would duplicate the page twice, rename the individual pages, and delete any content not needed for a particular page.
- Context-click on a page name in the TOC.
- Click Duplicate Page.
- Habitat adds a duplicate page beneath the current page and appends the word Copy to the title, as shown in the figure below. See Rename a Page above to edit the title.
