Confirm you have the correct permissions. You must have at least Edit and Comment permissions to perform all of the tasks described in this article.
Use Habitat’s Edit Content mode to add and style content, which includes patterns and tables. This article also describes how to manage pages and the display of the Table of Contents and Add Pattern sidebars.
Write Content in Many Languages
Habitat allows you to write content in any left-to-right language. This includes most of the world's written languages; however, it excludes right-to-left languages, such as Arabic.
To create content in a particular language, type in Habitat using your international keyboard. Note these points:
- While the content you write displays in your keyboard’s language, the remainder of the Habitat experience displays in English, such as the menu items and the button text.
- Platform widgets are in English. Widget menu and text instructions that you can’t edit with the widget editor display as English in Inkling. You can type the content in another language, like Chinese.
For characters with diacritical marks, certain areas of Habitat may display the HTML entity instead of the character itself. This behavior is normal, and the correct character displays in the final output.
Add and Edit Content
Habitat is a WYSIWYG editor, which means the content you see is the content you will publish. You can easily write paragraphs, create tables, and add multimedia and interactive widgets. Your content will be semantically well-structured and display correctly across devices.
If you have source content in an electronic
format from which you can copy text, you can also copy the text from the source and paste it into pages in Habitat.
