Confirm you have the correct permissions. You must have at least Edit and Comment permissions to perform all of the tasks described in this article.

To access the Project Info page, click Configure Project > Project Setup.

Changes you make in Project Info are displayed in the Habitat dashboard and on the project's landing page.

Configure Basic Project Settings

Edit the fields for the Title, Subtitle, Author, Edition, and Publisher. 

To replace the cover thumbnail, click it, then upload a new .png image or select one from Inkdoc’s media library. For best results, use the following dimensions: 1520 pixels wide x 1676 pixels high.

You can only use thumbnails saved as .png. Other formats, like .jpeg, .gif, and .svg, won’t display.

Create Translated Content

If you create translated content and distribute it to EchoInk reader applications, you can specify the content language. EchoInk provides robust reader environment support for twenty-three left-to-right (LTR) languages. You can search for exact word matches in all languages.

Further, EchoInk provides search autocompletion functionality in the EchoInk reader for many of these languages.

Inkling also supports authoring and robust reader environment support for the following right-to-left (RTL) languages. If you require the use of these languages, reach out to your CSM or EchoInk account representative for more information.

Select your Inkdoc’s language from the dropdown. If your Inkdoc’s language does not display in the list, leave English as the default. This feature does not change the content language distributed through an export package method, such as EPUB.

This setting enables users to search in the specified language. For example, if a German user is reading a German eBook on Inkling, a search term containing an umlaut, such as Lagerstätte or über, will yield search results that match the term or phrase.

While the content you write displays in your keyboard’s language, the remainder of the Habitat experience displays in English, such as the menu items and the button text.

Include a Glossary

To include a glossary in your Inkdoc, set Include Glossary to On. Glossary definitions display when a user hovers the cursor over a term.

Include Offline Embedded Video

Your Inkdoc Administrator usually configures this setting based on the project’s distribution methods. For more information, see Configure offline embedded video.

Include the Print Button in the Web Reader

To allow end users to print pages from the Inkdoc, set Page Printing (web only) to On. Clicking the print button opens the end user's browser print settings.

Printing is an optional feature and must be turned on for your organization and each Inkdoc. Contact your Inkling representative for more information.

Enable Feedback From End Users

To allow end users to submit feedback from the Inkdoc, set Feedback to On. Once enabled, end users will see a Feedback button in the reader and can send feedback based on highlighted content.

Enable Copying in Documents

To allow end users to copy text from the document, set Copy Text to On. Once enabled, end users will be able to select and copy text from the document using the standard right-click menu (mouse / trackpad) or keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl + C / Cmd + C).

Remove an Inkdoc From the Dashboard

Your Inkdoc Administrator can control whether an Inkdoc will display in the dashboard. For more information, see Archive and restore a project.
