In EchoInk, you can utilize Library search to search for a specific term or phrase in the Inkdocs are available to you.
For the web and iOS applications, you can view and access Library Search at the top of the page. In Android, tap the magnifying glass icon to open the search field.
Type a search term or phrase in the Search my library field and click Enter. EchoInk shows the results highlighted in pink, grouped by matching Inkdoc and matching page.
The Library includes an autocomplete feature that offers suggestions as you type your search term. To use this feature, you must enter your search term in English.
For example, if your device’s default interface language is set to Español (Castilian Spanish), you would enter blue for azul. EchoInk returns results and suggestions only for Inkdocs in your library that are published in English.
If your device is offline, EchoInk Library Search displays simplified suggestions that show only the titles of the Inkdocs available to you, without any highlighting. You can download an Inkdoc and search within that publication for a term or phrase.
Search Results
Search results are sorted in the following order:
- Results that contain an exact phrase match.
- Results that contain all search terms, in any order.
- Results that contain any of the search terms, but not all.
EchoInk displays search results grouped by whether the result is an Inkdoc title or a match within page content. These results exclude glossary entries and annotations, and are displayed in bold text and highlighted in pink.
Each page in the EchoInk Web Library lists up to 10 search results. You can navigate through the search results using the Previous Page and Next Page buttons at the bottom of the results page.
On iOS and Android native apps, the results list is infinitely scrollable. EchoInk Library displays a cloud icon next to a search result if you have not yet downloaded the content.
When you click on a search result, EchoInk Library opens the corresponding element, such as a chapter, exhibit, figure, or video. The page scrolls to the first instance of the search term, and the background of the found search term is highlighted in pink.
To return to the search results list, follow the instructions below depending on your device:
