Activity Tasks introduces a guided, task-based workflow designed to support learner practice, reflection, and feedback. For instructors, this experience provides clearer visibility into learner progress while preserving familiar workflows for reviewing submissions and assessing performance.
During this introductory period, Activity Tasks are optional and can be enabled on a per-activity basis. Later this year, Activity Tasks will become the standard experience in GoReact, and it will no longer be possible to return to the previous activity view.
Enabling Activity Tasks
Activity Tasks can be enabled for individual activities at any time. To do so, create an activity, open the activity, and toggle on the New Activity View setting. This change applies only to the selected activity and does not affect other activities in the course.
Instructor Experience
When Activity Tasks is enabled, instructors primarily work from two areas: the Instructor Overview page and the Activity Preview page. These pages provide access to learner submissions, progress reporting, and activity configuration.
Instructor Overview Page
The Instructor Overview page includes three tabs that support different parts of the instructor workflow.
The Submissions tab functions the same way as the previous session list view. Instructors can view learner-submitted videos, leave timestamped comments, apply rubrics, and assess learner performance just as they did before Activity Tasks.
The Task Report tab is new with this release. It provides a task-level view of learner progress, allowing instructors to quickly see which learners have completed required steps and where learners may be stuck or falling behind.
The Activity Report summarizes each learner's overall participation and completion. This report is also accessible from the activity drop-down menu and provides a high-level view of engagement across the class.
Activity Preview Page
The Activity Preview page allows instructors to see the activity exactly as learners experience it. From this page, instructors can move through tasks as a learner would, making it easier to understand the learner workflow and verify activity setup.
Instructors can also edit activity settings and tasks from the Activity Preview page. Activity-level settings are edited in a side panel and include only settings that apply to the entire activity. Task-specific settings are edited directly within individual tasks, where instructors can reorder tasks, enable or disable them, and adjust task behavior as needed.
Core Activity Tasks
The Create Your Video task is required for most activities. In this step, you record or upload one or more videos. All videos are saved as drafts and remain private (not viewable by peers, reviewers, and instructors) at this stage. This task is completed as soon as at least one video is created and submitted.
The Self Reflect task asks you to review your own video and add timestamped comments reflecting on what went well and what could be improved. This task is completed after you add at least one reflection comment. This task is only visible to peers if your instructor has included peer review.
The Submit task allows you to choose which of your videos to submit for review. Once submitted, videos become visible to instructors, reviewers, and peers. You can edit your submission to add or remove videos until feedback or scores are provided. Once feedback or scores are available, videos cannot be retracted. For single-attempt and Live Review activities, videos are submitted automatically, and this task does not appear.
The Give Peer Feedback task allows you to view and comment on videos submitted by other learners. Peer videos are only visible when another learner has submitted a video and the activity’s privacy settings allow peer review. This task is completed after you leave feedback on at least one peer video.
The Learn from Feedback task focuses on reviewing comments or rubrics provided by instructors, reviewers, or peers. This task is completed after you view any instructor feedback. Viewing AI-generated feedback does not count toward task completion.
Special Activity Types
Some activity types do not include all Activity Tasks because certain tasks are not applicable.
Comment-only activities include only tasks related to reviewing a video and learning from feedback. Master activities do not currently support Activity Tasks, though this capability will be added later this year.
For single-attempt and Live Review activities, videos are submitted automatically upon creation. As a result, these activities do not include a separate Submit task.
LMS Integration
Activity Tasks integrates seamlessly with supported learning management systems. Submission status is sent to the LMS when a learner submits a video, and grades entered in GoReact are passed back to the LMS. Individual task completion is not reported to the LMS.
