Admin Dashboard: Quick Action Cards

We’ve introduced Quick Actions Cards to the EchoVideo Admin Dashboard! Now, admins can perform common tasks, such as adding rooms and courses or scheduling captures, with a single click, right from the dashboard. No more digging through menus or extra navigation steps.

User Benefits:

  • Streamlined workflows for faster system management.
  • A cleaner, more intuitive dashboard experience.

Improvements

AskEcho Expansion

We’ve made AskEcho more widely available! Now, AskEcho is available not just in Folders, but also in Sections, Embeds, and Shared Media. Instructors and admins can decide exactly when AskEcho appears and which AI-powered features (Summaries, FAQs, Study Cards, Quizzes) learners can see. This means a more consistent, tailored learning experience, wherever your students engage with EchoVideo content.

  • Better support for diverse teaching and learning workflows.

Universal Capture Updates

We have performed maintenance and infrastructure updates on Universal Capture. This latest version addresses the following issues:

  • ARM code is now fully supported in the macOS system audio driver, so Apple Silicon Macs no longer require Rosetta for system audio capture.
  • UC-Capture: IP Cameras now work on channels 3 and 4, so you can connect up to 4 IP cameras on a Mac.

The latest version number is 6.0.868836174.

Accessibility Improvements

  • Downloads page now supports 400% zoom for improved accessibility.
  • Browser Capture accessibility enhancements for 400% zoom.
  • Added a Skip to Main Content link for keyboard users to improve navigation speed and ease.
  • Browser Capture: You can now pause, stop, or hide the auto-updating microphone meter animation for a distraction-free experience.
  • Improved keyboard navigation for Poll Questions and Student Responses tables on the Polling tab.
  • All key components on the New MDP page are now accessible using keyboard navigation.

Fixes

  • Fixed a delay in caption display when switching layouts in the UK and US regions.
  • Resolved the inconsistent display of live captions when transcripts are unavailable or delayed.
  • Fixed duplicate message display when pressing Enter on the Study Guide download button.
  • Removed unwanted 4px black border from H5P embedded media.
  • Addressed LTI 1.3 gradebook sync failures to ensure grades sync correctly with your LMS.
  • Live captions now reliably appear for all live streams, even after resizing or going full screen.
  • Live captions now display correctly when the browser height is too small.
  • Fixed playback stalls in the EchoPlayer.
  • Live Captions now appear in sync with spoken words, not ahead of playtime.
  • No more duplicate words in live captions during playback.
  • EchoPlayer now shows a reconnecting overlay instead of flickering during network stalls.
