Activity Tasks

Overview

Activity Tasks introduces a guided, task-based workflow that helps learners build skills more effectively by encouraging self-reflection, feedback, and engagement with the activity. Instructors gain clearer visibility into learner progress, while learners benefit from structured steps that make GoReact easier to use, and that support practice, feedback, and improvement.

Enabling Activity Tasks

During this introductory period Activity Tasks is an optional experience that can be enabled or disabled per activity, allowing instructors, coaches and curriculum developers to adopt the new workflow at their own pace. This new activity view will become the standard later this year, and it will not be possible to switch back to the old view.

Toggle to turn on Activity Task Feature

To enable Activity Tasks:

  1. Create an activity (using the same interface used before the Activity Task experience is enabled).
  2. Open the activity.
  3. Toggle on the New Activity View.

Learner Experience

Task and Activity Completion

Learners see a clear list of tasks to complete. Tasks are automatically marked complete once requirements are met. When all tasks are completed, the activity is marked complete.

Core Activity Tasks

Create Your Video (Required)
Create Your Video Task with Videos Created
  • Record or upload one or more videos.
  • Videos remain private until submitted. The Drafts feature has been incorporated into this step. All videos are drafts until they are submitted. Learners must complete the Submit Video task before Instructors will see that the videos have been submitted.
  • Automatically completed after at least one video is created.
Self Reflect
  • Learners review their own videos and reflect on what went well and what could be improved.
  • Add timestamped reflection comments.
  • Completed after at least one comment is added.
Submit
Submit Video Task with One Video Submitted
  • Choose which videos to submit for review.
  • Submitted videos become visible to instructors, reviewers, and peers.
  • Completed after at least one video is submitted.
  • Edit Submissions allows videos to be retracted, or additional videos to be submitted.
  • Videos cannot be retracted once feedback or scores exist.
  • Single-attempt and Live Review videos are auto-submitted upon creation, so this task is not visible for these types of activities.
Give Peer Feedback
  • View and comment on peer-submitted videos.
  • Peer videos are only visible to the learner when a peer has submitted a video and the Privacy setting for an activity is Open Peer Review or Closed Peer Review.
  • Completed after feedback is given on at least one peer video.
Learn from Feedback
  • Review instructor, reviewer, and peer comments or rubrics.
  • Completed after viewing any instructor feedback.
  • Viewing AI-generated feedback does not count toward completion.

Instructor Experience

Instructors have two main pages to work with for each activity when the Activity Tasks View is enabled.

Instructor Overview Page

The Instructor Overview page has three tabs:

Submissions
Submissions View

This view operates the same way that the session list view operated before. Instructors can view learner-submitted videos, provide feedback, and assess performance.

Task Report
Activity Task Report

The Task Report is new with this release. It helps instructors track task completion for each learner to quickly identify progress and gaps.

Activity Report
Activity Report

The Activity Report summarizes the overall participation and completion for each student in the activity. This same report can also be accessed from the drop-down menu for each activity.

Activity Preview Page

Use the Activity Preview to see what students see.

The Activity Preview page allows instructors to:

  • See exactly what learners see.
  • Interact with the activity as a learner.
  • Edit activity settings and tasks.

Editing Options:

  • Edit Activity: Modify global activity settings in a side panel.

  • The panel shows only the activity settings that apply to the whole activity. Other settings are located in different Activity Tasks.

  • Edit Tasks: Reorder tasks, enable or disable tasks, and adjust task-specific settings.

Special Activity Types

Some activity types do not offer the same activity tasks because not all tasks are applicable.

Comment-only Activities

Available tasks:

  • Review a Video.
  • Learn from Feedback.

Master Activities

  • Master activities can't use Activity Tasks at this time. This capability will be added later this year. 

Single-attempt and Live Review Activities

  • No Submit task.
  • Videos are submitted automatically.

LMS Integration

Activity Tasks functions seamlessly with LMS integrations:

  • Submission status is sent to the LMS upon video submission.
  • Grades entered in GoReact are sent to the LMS.
  • Individual task completion is not reported to the LMS.
