Features
Multiple Folder Levels in the GoReact Library
The GoReact library will now support up to three levels of folders. This feature enables organizations to structure library content for fast and easy retrieval. This feature has the following behaviors:
- Up to three levels of folders can be created.
- Add, move, or copy items from one folder to another folder at any level, and in any branch of the folder tree structure.
- Supports searching, filtering, and sorting across all folders.
- Multi-select library items and perform mass actions across folder levels and branches.
- Automatically uses the selected folder when creating a new folder or when creating new content. When an item is selected, the folder to which it belongs is used as the destination folder.
- Expand and collapse folders as needed.
- All content and subfolders within a folder must be removed before the folder can be removed.
Improvements
- Changed behavior for passing the status of a video to the LMS system for LTI version 1.3 so that the status of the video is shared with the LMS system even when there is no score associated with the activity.
- Participants and reviewers will no longer see email addresses for users that they share a video with using a public link – they will only see the person’s name.
- Improved the wording on single attempt activities so that it is clearer to users that when they quit or leave a recording, it is being posted.
- Enhanced the Live Review Create Videos feature so that placeholders are now created for all users in the LMS system course roster, even if the users have not accessed GoReact yet. Previously, instructors would need to wait until each student had accessed GoReact before they could create placeholder sessions for a Live Review activity. Some additional notes about this improvement:
- This change only applies to customers using GoReact through an LMS system.
- This change will impact how licenses are consumed in the following ways:
- Any user in the course roster that has not already accessed GoReact will consume a license when a placeholder is created for them.
- If there are not enough licenses available for every student in the roster, the system will stop creating placeholders after the last license is consumed. For example, if there are 20 students in the roster that have not accessed GoReact (and consumed a license), and if there are only 15 licenses available, then a placeholder for the first 15 students would get created, but not for the last 5 students.
- Removed the Title field in the YouTube tab when creating a GoReact session. This field was causing confusion for users who expected the name of the session to be identical to what they had named it in YouTube. Users who want to change the name of the session can still do so through the Edit menu option for the session.
- For the EU instance of GoReact, all AI requests will now go through the Assembly AI servers located in the UK, instead of the servers located in the US. This change helps to ensure that GoReact is in compliance with GDPR and other data privacy laws.
- Added icons for each organization a user belongs to, and an icon for the Archive option when the main navigation bar is collapsed.
- For Moodle users only, we have now exposed the activity due date and the availability date in the GoReact activity settings so that instructors can define these dates. Moodle does not support these dates in the fields that are available to use for integrations. If the availability date is set in the future and a student accesses GoReact through that activity in the LMS, GoReact will display a message to the student that the activity is not available yet.
- Changed the UI to only display tool tips for truncated text when the text is actually truncated. We were displaying the tool tips for all text, whether it was truncated or not.
- Improved the messaging that is displayed to users when the guest reviewer's (shared) video link is not working.
Fixes
- Fixed a problem with the user/account menu, where the drop-down icon was overlapping with the name of the user.
- Resolved an issue where the varying width of the timer caused the buttons on the recorder bar to shift as the timer progressed.
- Corrected the behavior of some buttons in the dialog that appears when the user has finished a recording, so that the user is taken to the logical next step in the process of saving or cancelling a recording.
- Resolved an accessibility issue involving keyboard navigation while in the main navigation bar on the left-hand side of the application.
- Fixed an issue with the mobile UI for inviting users to a course where the descriptions of GoReact roles were not wrapping.
- Corrected an issue where D2L users were being asked to verify their GoReact accounts each time they entered an activity/assignment.
- Fixed an issue with the styling being used in the in-application survey so that the correct colors will now display for LTI users.
- Resolved an issue with the connection quality warning that appears when a user has a poor network connection, so that the warning is now correctly displayed to each person during group sessions.
- Corrected an issue where video replies to comments required the user to enter text before sending the reply.
- Fixed an issue where the first video chapter in the transcript was being displayed twice in some situations.
- Resolved a rarely occurring issue where a user was getting dropped from a course but not getting a credit refunded to them.
- Fixed an issue where the Save button in the Manage Collections panel in the library was scrolling off the screen instead of being pinned at the bottom of the panel. This was only occurring in the Safari and Firefox browsers.
- Fixed an issue where users were clicking on the Log In button multiple times because the system was taking some extra time to transition away from the login page, and the user was not given any indication that they had successfully completed the login. The Log In button will now be disabled when the user clicks on it.
- Fixed a formatting issue in the Purchase License page so that the different license options will now display correctly when users try to purchase a license.
- Resolved an issue where the Join button was not being displayed on the thumbnail placeholders for group sessions.
- Fixed an issue where vertical scroll bars were appearing in the session list view. The vertical scroll bars were not supposed to be there.
- Fixed an issue where a spinner icon was being displayed in the Analytics tab when viewing a video. The spinner icon will no longer display because it was not needed.
- Resolved an issue where the tabs in a session were switching back and forth by themselves between the Analytics and the Transcript tabs, causing GoReact to flicker.
- Resolved an issue where some of the toast messages that pop up to confirm that an action was completed were not appearing.
- Fixed a problem where pressing the space bar in the comment box did not stop the video.
- Corrected a problem with the Restart feature that was preventing the user from returning to the Recording view.
- Resolved a problem where participants were unable to share their videos with other participants in the folder by using the participant’s name.
