Features
Communication AI Markers
We are excited to announce the release of nine additional AI markers for the Communication discipline, bringing the total number of Communication AI markers to 19. Communication instructors and coaches can help learners to improve the structure and communication techniques used in presentations with the following new markers:
- Hook: Identifies the hook used and provides feedback on its effectiveness.
- Thesis Statement: Identifies the thesis statement of the speech / presentation and provide feedback on its effectiveness.
- Major Points: Identifies each of the major points of the presentation / speech and then provides feedback on their significance and relevance to the thesis statement.
- Transitions: Identifies each of the major transitions of the presentation / speech and provides feedback on the logical flow.
- Conclusion: Identifies and provides feedback on the conclusion and its alignment to the thesis.
- Exit Line: Identifies and provides feedback on the exit line and it’s impact on the overall speech.
- Rhetorical Device: Identifies and provides feedback on the rhetorical devices used in the speech / presentation.
- Emotional Arc: Identifies the emotional arc of the speech / presentation and provides feedback on its effectiveness.
- Organizational Pattern: Identifies the type of organizational pattern used in the speech and provides feedback on its effectiveness.
The Transitions - Praise and Transitions - Improve AI Markers are being replaced by the new Transitions marker, which combines praise and suggestions for improvement into a single marker.
Learners using GoReact will now have powerful tools to help them to improve the organization and delivery of their presentations, so that their audience stays engaged, comprehends and retains more of the message being shared.
World Language AI Markers
We are excited to announce the addition of 20 new AI Markers for the World Language discipline, bringing the total number of world languages AI markers to 26. These new markers are focused on specific language skills that are commonly studied by first-year language students at higher education organizations. The markers provide specific guidance for improving grammar, and praise the learner when correct grammar is used. The new AI markers include the following:
Supported for Spanish, French, Italian and German
- Subject Pronouns: Focuses on effective and accurate use of subject pronouns. One marker for praise and another for improvement.
- G/N Agreement: Focuses on the correct agreement between the subject/noun and the other words in the conversation, such as adjectives, pronouns and articles. One marker for praise and another for improvement.
- Present Tense: Focuses on effective and accurate use of the present tense. One marker for praise and another for improvement.
- Negation: Focuses on effective and accurate use of negation. One marker for praise and another for improvement.
- Prepositions: Focuses on effective and accurate use of prepositions. One marker for praise and another for improvement.
- Direct Object Pronouns: Focuses on effective and accurate use of direct object pronouns. One marker for praise and another for improvement.
- Question Formation: Focuses on effective and accurate formation of questions. One marker for praise and another for improvement.
Supported for German Only
- Nominative Case: Focuses on effective and accurate use of the nominative case. One marker for praise and another for improvement.
- Accusative Case: Focuses on effective and accurate use of the accusative case. One marker for praise and another for improvement.
- Imperative Case: Focuses on effective and accurate use of the imperative case. One marker for praise and another for improvement.
Improvements
- Added support for handling outages of the tax handling service in GoReact.
- Participant attachments are now visible to guest reviewers.
- Names of people that a video has already been shared with will now be displayed on the Share Video dialog, so that users can check to see if they have already shared the video with that person.
- Users reviewing the transcript will now have more control over the autoscroll feature in the transcript, so that if the user reads ahead or behind in the transcript, it won't jump around as the video is playing.
- Comment-only activities will now display feedback instructions in the activity instructions view that students have access to.
- Improved the wording of an error message when the user tries to share a library item that they don't have permission to share.
- When entering course access codes, an example access code will now be displayed so that students know which code they should be entering.
- A zero-state screen will no longer be displayed until after the video is recorded to reduce confusion that it can cause for users who see the screen too early.
Fixes
- Fixed a performance issue reported by MHE when scrolling through the conversation board when there is a very large number of video/audio comments.
- Addressed an issue where the recording instructions was only being displayed to the first user in a group session.
- Corrected a problem with iOS devices where copy and paste in the comment box was disabling the send button.
- Fixed an issue with a back button in the sign-up wizard.
- Resolved an issue where the AI Marker Configuration dialog wasn't displaying and markers to choose from.
- Addressed an issue where the screen share feature was changing the settings for background blur and video mirroring.
- Fixed an accessibility issue with the sparkle icon for the AI Assistant.
- Resolved an issue with folders in the library that was causing library items to display incorrectly.
