The EchoVideo player includes a global toggle for the Lock Overlay feature. This setting allows institutional administrators to define the default behavior of the Lock Overlay across their institution. While the toggle sets a system-wide default, individual users can still adjust the setting for their own media, ensuring institutions maintain consistent playback experiences while allowing flexibility for instructors and creators.
To lock the overlay
- Log in to EchoVideo as an administrator.
- Click the Settings icon in the upper-right corner of the screen.
From the Settings menu, select Institution Settings.
General settings appear, and Basic Info is selected by default.
- Click Features from the middle panel.
- Scroll down to the Player Options section of the page, shown in the figure below.
- Turn on the toggle for Lock Overlays, it is off by default, as shown in the figure above.
- Review the warning message and click Confirm.
