GoReact supports Blackboard LTI 1.3 integration for both Blackboard Ultra and Blackboard Learn (Original). This guide walks Blackboard administrators through configuring GoReact using LTI 1.3.
Before You Begin
Before starting, confirm you have Blackboard administrator permissions and that GoReact is already installed at the organization level.
If you currently use GoReact LTI 1.1, verify the existing installation is functioning correctly and confirm you are using the appropriate launch URL:
- US: https://lti.goreact.com/lti/v1
- EU: https://lti.goreact.eu/lti/v1
- AU: https://lti.goreact.au/lti/v1
When migrating from LTI 1.1 to LTI 1.3, do not remove the existing GoReact tool installation unless directed by Support, as deleting the tool will break existing assignment links. Once the migration to LTI 1.3 is completed, it cannot be reversed.
To obtain your Blackboard LTI 1.3 Client ID, contact support@echo360.com.
Install the GoReact LTI 1.3 Tool
- In Blackboard, open the Administrator Panel.
- Under Integrations, select LTI Tool Providers.
- Select Register LTI 1.3 / Advantage Tool.
- Enter the Client ID provided by Echo360 Support.
- Select Submit.
If you already use GoReact LTI 1.1, Blackboard may prompt you to migrate existing assignments to LTI 1.3. Since this migration cannot be reversed, confirm you are ready to proceed.
After submitting, Blackboard displays the LTI 1.3 configuration settings.
Configure Institution Policies
Under Institution Policies, turn on the following:
User Fields to Send
- Role in Course
- Name
- Email Address
Set the following to Yes:
Service Access
- Allow Grade Service Access
- Allow Membership Service Access
Select Submit to save the configuration. The GoReact tool has now been added to Blackboard.
Create a Placement
If your previous GoReact LTI 1.1 installation already included placements, you may only need to review and update them.
- In LTI Tool Providers, locate the GoReact tool.
- Open the tool's dropdown and select Manage Placements.
-
Select Create Placement.
If there is already an existing placement, you can edit that and ensure the proper settings are selected.
-
Use the following settings:
Field Value Label GoReact 1.3 Handle GoReact 1.3 Type Course Content Tool Allows Grading Enabled Launch in New Window Enabled Target Link URI https://lti.goreact.com/lti/v1p3/target-link - Select Submit.
Verify the Integration
After the setup is complete, instructors can begin creating GoReact assignments in Blackboard. Existing GoReact LTI 1.1 assignments will automatically launch using LTI 1.3.
During the first launch, users may briefly see a GoReact verification message asking them to reach out to the Echo360 support team to verify their account. This is intentional. LTI 1.3 is built with security and verification in mind, so complete this step to use GoReact as you normally would.
Additional Notes
- Only one GoReact app installation should exist per Blackboard organization.
- Users should always access GoReact assignments through Blackboard.
- Separate GoReact.com login access is not required.
