Features, Improvements, and Fixes

Features

New Poll Deck Editor Experience

The Poll Deck Editor has been completely redesigned to deliver a more intuitive, accessible, and streamlined editing experience—now aligned with the familiar interface of EchoExam. Slides are displayed in a panel on the left, while settings and options are organized on the right. The center of the screen provides a full WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editing area, allowing instructors to preview and edit each slide in real time. To give instructors more control over their edits, a new Save button has been introduced to ensure that only the changes you choose to keep are applied.

Additional Scoring Options

Instructors now have more flexibility when scoring questions, with the ability to assign different point values to individual responses. This allows for weighted scoring based on how close a response is to the correct answer. Instructors can also award partial credit for incorrect answers, giving learners recognition for effort and participation, even if they didn’t select the correct option.

In-Line Equations

The equation editor has been improved and updated to fully support adding equations and chemistry formulas in-line with question text. Equations can be added using the builder tools or using LaTeX format, and will automatically be adjusted to display in the proper font size and style to match the rest of the question text.

Learner Accessibility Tools

EchoPoll will include automatic access for learners to robust accessibility tools from UserWay. Learners can open the accessibility options to make adjustments such as contrast and font, or to use tools like hide images and reading mask.

Edit Correct Answers After Polling

Instructors now have the ability to adjust the correct answer for a question after a session or assignment has completed. The question text, answer choices, and media cannot be changed after the session or assignment.

Session Join Information & QR Code improvement

Instructors will now be able to control how session join information and QR codes appear during presentations. This includes choosing whether or not to display join details on individual slides and adjusting the size of the QR code. While these display settings can be customized, the actual session access link and code remain unchanged. EchoPoll+ users will also gain additional options to manage how and when join information is shown throughout the presentation.

Set default PowerPoint ribbon tab

EchoPoll+ for Windows now includes an additional option to set the default ribbon tab when launching PowerPoint. When enabled, PowerPoint will automatically launch on the EchoPoll tab. When disabled, PowerPoint will default to the standard Home tab. This preference is stored locally, allowing instructors to configure it once and continue working without interruption.

Improvements

• Digital Accessibility improvements have been made in many areas to improve color contrast ratios, keyboard navigation, etc.

Hotspot Improvements

Hotspot Questions have been improved to give instructors more flexibility and support for diverse learner needs:

• New shape options: circle and freeform
• Custom colors for borders, fills, hover, and selection
• Alt text field for improved accessibility
• More input styles like dots and pins

EchoPoll Fixes

• We now appropriately show an error in the New User Registration form when attempting to use a special character in the first or last name fields.
• Resolved an issue where Assignments were not honoring the default participation setting configured in the account settings.
• Resolved an issue where YouTube Share links could not be used for Resource creation.
• Resolved an issue where reserved Session join codes could occasionally not appear when starting a Session.
• Resolved an issue where, on mobile devices, you had to scroll down within the Chat window to get to the text entry area.
• Resolved an issue where answers could not be submitted when the Chat window was open.
• Resolved an issue with some LMS integrations where the retrieved course list could not be paginated, resulting in an error when trying to connect.
• Resolved a very rare scenario where some Instructor's Dashboards were continuously refreshing.
• Resolved an issue where the Create button was disappearing for Instructors when using a screen size smaller than 1024.
• Resolved an issue that prevented Echo.AI assist from generating question slides.

EchoPoll+ Fixes

• In EchoPoll+, on Windows, resolved an issue where saving question settings for a Multiple Select question type were not always displaying or saving correctly.
