When users are added to or removed from the system or enrolled in or removed from sections, they receive a notification email. Sometimes administrators want to perform mass enrollments and do not want users to receive multiple (or any) emails about it.
If you are using a Single Sign-on (SSO) system to log users in and pass them into EchoVideo, or you are using an LMS where users authenticate and then access EchoVideo, these users do not need registration or a section invitation / enrollment email from EchoVideo, because they do not access EchoVideo directly. In fact, you probably do not want them to receive the auto-generated registration or enrollment email.
To avoid all of this electronic traffic, you can turn off Email notifications for the institution. Toggling this switch, turns off all auto-generated emails from EchoVideo, including:
- New user registration
- Section enrollment / dis-enrollment
- Re-invitations to the system or to a section
- Notifications that video / media processing is complete and media is online
Note that a password reset email will still be sent if a user clicks the Forgot Password link on the login page.
To turn off auto-generated email notifications:
- Log in to EchoVideo as an administrator.
- Click the Settings icon in the upper-right corner of the screen.
-
From the Settings menu, select Institution Settings.
General settings appear, and Basic Info is selected by default.
- Click Features from the middle panel.
- Scroll down to the Emails and Notifications section of the page, as shown in the figure below.
- Turn off the Email notifications toggle switch, which is on by default, as shown in the figure above.
- Click Confirm on the confirmation message that appears.
Automated email notifications from EchoVideo are now turned off; users will no longer receive messages from the system.
