Institution administrators can add a Legal Policy and a Transcript Disclaimer so users can easily access, review, and reference this information. These notices provide important information about applicable terms, conditions, responsibilities, and limitations related to using the platform and its transcript features. Centralizing these materials helps ensure important policies remain visible and available to the entire campus community.

After adding the legal policy and transcript disclaimer, they appear on the Legal page. Users can access this page at any time and review the information under the corresponding Legal Policy and Transcript Disclaimer tabs. This allows users to consult the applicable notices whenever they need clarification or additional details.

To add / edit these, log in to EchoVideo as an institutional admin and go to Settings > Institution Settings > Legal Policies, as shown in the image below.

Add a Legal Policy

1. Type or copy / paste text into the Legal Policy text box.

   Tip: The text box can accommodate up to 3,600 characters. If your content exceeds this limit, you must shorten it before pasting. Alternatively, publish the full text elsewhere and include a link to it in the text box.

2. Optionally, use the rich text editor to format your policy with lists, emphasis, and links to improve readability. 
3. Scroll and click Save.

Once saved, the text you entered appears in the Legal Policies tab of the Legal page, as shown in the image below.

Add a Transcript Disclaimer

1. Scroll down and type or copy / paste text into the Transcript Disclaimer text box.

   Tip: The text box can accommodate up to 140 characters. If your content exceeds this limit, you must shorten it before pasting.

2. Click Save.

Once saved, the text you entered appears in the Transcript Disclaimer tab of the Legal page, as shown in the image below, and is presented to viewers if they enable the Transcript panel in the player.
