EchoVideo 2022 Deployment Notes 28-29 June

These Deployment Notes contain a summary of the changes made to the EchoVideo platform for the June 28-29, 2022 production deployments. For changes made in previous deployments, see the other Release/Deployment Notes articles located here in the online resource center, or contact support@echo360.com.

Upcoming Deployment Schedule

In order to accommodate an upcoming EchoVideo engineering conference, EchoVideo will be skipping the deployment that would otherwise occur in the second week of July, per our normal two-week deployment schedule.

Therefore, the next deployments will occur as follows:

  • June 28-29, 2022 (this one)
  • July 26-27, 2022 (4 weeks after previous)

New and Improved!

EchoVideo Web Capture Beta is now available for everyone!
EchoVideo browser-based capture is now available for all of our customers. Browser-based capture is a simplified method of creating a recording using any computer, including netbooks, with the only requirement being the use of a supported browser. No software download required! To learn more about how it works, see Recording with Browser Capture.

If you are interested in this feature and are an Instructor, you will need to have your Administrator turn it on for your Institution. If you are an Administrator, simply navigate to

  1. Institution Settings
  2. Look for the Echo Web Capture toggle
  3. Flip it to “on” to enable browser-based capture for everyone

RevAI Captioning Integration v1.0
EchoVideo can now integrate with Rev’s Automated (AI) Closed Captioning service. Simply plug in your Rev API key to make use of Rev’s AI captioning services and manage payment within your Rev account. Reminder of Upcoming API Report Deprecations
Reminding users that Version 1 of both the Polling by User Report and the Question & Answer report are scheduled to be deprecated as of June 30, 2022. This was announced in previous deployment notes, and the online documentation contains callouts to this effect.

Bug Fixes and Other Improvements

  • Resolved an issue where the Institution switcher was still available but unusable from within the Media Editor and Transcript Editor.
