With Knowbly™ you can add an audio file to play over any lesson, activity, or assessment page in your course. Auto-play or on demand, you can narrate your course text, provide supplemental audio details, or entertain your learners with some smooth background jazz.
Adding Audio Narration
From the title block of your page, you can add an audio recording for narration from two locations;
- Open settings for the title block and locate the add Audio Narration button in the left panel.
- Hover your mouse over the right corner of the block and select the Page Narration button.
Next you need to choose whether you wish to use an existing audio asset from the content manager, or record a new audio asset.
- If you choose to Add Audio, select an existing audio file from the Content Manager.
- You can record a new audio file.
PRO TIP: Some users would like to read the page content while narrating their audio. While this can be difficult with the recording screen covering the page text, we recommend that users open the page in two different browsers windows side-by-side so you can record the audio in one window while you read the text in the other.
Play Audio Narration
You can configure the audio to auto-play for the learners when they enter the page or to play on demand. To configure this, select the settings for the title block where you have added audio narration, and flip the toggle for auto-play.
NOTE: Auto-play may not be supported on all browsers or mobile devices. Please check support for your intended destination.
Narrative audio will appear in the page header for the learner. You can try it out by viewing the page in Preview mode. Learners have options to play, pause, or skip the audio track back or forward by 10 seconds.
