Uploading Videos to the Content Manager
In knowbly™, you may upload local video files by using the Add Media interface from the knowbly™ Content Manager.
Once you enter the interface for adding media, you are presented with an option to add either add via Upload, by URL, or from the Content Manager.
Add by Upload
To upload video, you may either drag and drop a file to the middle part of the interface or click to search for the file you wish to upload. Once you have selected the file, you may either select another file to upload or click add to save your file to Knowbly™.
Depending on the size of the video it may take a few seconds to upload it. A percentage upload completed displays.
Uploaded Video and Widgets
Note that you can only use uploaded video with widgets where you are downloading the package - we do not allow widgets with uploaded video to be published using the embed code. This is because we are hosting these widgets on our server and we cannot at this time support streaming video.
Courses do not have the same limitation - these are always downloaded as a package and thus has no limitation on using uploaded video.
If you use an uploaded video in a widget, it will warn you of this limitation as follows:
If you try to publish a widget with uploaded video using the embed code, you will not be able to proceed and will see this error:
Common Errors with Uploading Video Assets
If you try to upload a video file type that isn’t supported, the following warning message displays:
