Collection members can voluntarily leave the collection at any time. This includes collection Managers.
Leaving a collection means you can no longer see the collection on your Collections page, or access the media through that collection (you may be able to view the media in other ways, such as in a classroom or from your library if it has been shared with you).
A collection Manager or an EchoVideo administrator will have to re-add you to the collection if you leave inadvertently, or need to return.
There are three ways to leave a collection:
- Click on the collection tile to enter the collection.
- Select the Actions button, then select Leave Collection from the Actions menu as shown below.
OR...
- Click on the collection tile to enter the collection.
- Select the Membership tab, then select the trash can icon next to your name, as shown below.
OR...
Click Remove from the collection tile menu on the Collections page, as shown in the below figure.
You can also do this from the collection tile on your Library page; the collection tiles and their features are identical in both places.
IMPORTANT - Does it say Remove or Delete? - If you click the collection menu and see Delete instead of Remove, this is NOT the same thing. Delete only appears for collection managers (along with several other commands), and will DELETE the collection. If it says Remove, then you can select it to remove yourself from the collection, which in turn, removes the collection from your Collections page.
All three methods provide a warning box informing you of the consequences of leaving the collection.
