Echo360 can now be configured with Microsoft (MS) OneDrive to provide users with an automated way to copy their OneDrive media into their Echo360 Library, and even publish it directly to an Echo360 course.
The integration provides "folder subscription" access to instructors. This allows them to subscribe to any of their folders in OneDrive. This subscription sets up automatic ingestion of media files from those OneDrive folders into Echo360. Furthermore, instructors can set up these subscriptions to automatically publish the ingested media directly into an Echo360 course section.

Microsoft Teams is in the process of migrating all installations to using SharePoint as the repository for files and recordings uploaded and generated through Teams. Understand that in this case, SharePoint is backed by OneDrive, meaning the Echo360 integration with OneDrive is the same thing as integrating with SharePoint. This is true both through Teams as well as for ANY SharePoint installation backed by Microsoft OneDrive.
All this means is that while yes, the OneDrive integration makes a Teams integration with Echo360 a more complete solution, you do not HAVE to be using Teams to effectively use the Echo360 OneDrive integration.
