EchoVideo allows you to apply institutional branding to all videos processed and served to users. This branding can be applied via watermarking and adding intro and / or outro clips to the videos.
Once configured, branding is applied to all videos across the institution (both captures and user-uploaded video files) going forward. Furthermore, turning off a branding feature later will not remove it from already-processed video files. This also applies when changing the watermark or intro / outro clips used. Once a video has been processed to include the branding item, it remains on the video until re-processed without it or with a different uploaded branding file.
To remove a watermark, intro clip, or outro clip from videos
- Following the steps in the procedure(s) below, toggle the Watermark, Intro Video, and / or Outro Video slider(s) off as desired.
- On the Captures page, find / filter for the video(s) you want to remove the branding from.
- From the chevron menu on the right side of the capture row, select Reprocess.
- Repeat step 3 for each video from which you want the branding removed.
Once reprocessing is completed, the branding item(s) you turned off no longer appear with the video.
Watermarking
Watermarking is the process of overlaying a semi-transparent image on a video file so that viewers recognize the institutional owner of the content.
Watermarking in EchoVideo applies the image to the bottom-right corner of the video.
To apply watermarking to videos
- Log in as an administrator.
- Click the Settings icon in the upper-right corner of the screen.
- From the Settings menu, select Institution Settings.
General settings appears and Basic Info is selected by default.
- On the left side of the Institution Settings page, select Branding.
- Under Watermark in Manage Content Assets, click Add Image.
- Use the Filestack window to locate and select the file.
Once uploaded, the image appears in the preview box.
From this point forward, all videos processed will contain the uploaded image, at 20% transparency, in the bottom right corner of the video.
Our watermark rules are as follows:
-- We always maintain the aspect ratio of the native watermark image uploaded by the user.
-- If the native height exceeds 12.5% of the video height, we will scale it down to 12.5%.
-- If the native height does not exceed 12.5% of the video height, we preserve its native quality.
Intro and Outro Clips
Adding an Intro and / or an Outro clip to your video branding configuration adds the uploaded clip to the opening or closing of all videos processed for this institution. Neither is required, and you may add an intro clip, an outro clip, or both.
Keep clips short. The length of the video clip used for the intro / outro is not restricted, but users might get annoyed with having to sit through excessive intro / outro viewing time.
To apply an intro and / or outro clip to videos
- Log in as an administrator.
- Click the Settings icon in the upper-right corner of the screen.
- From the Settings menu, select Institution Settings.
General settings appears and Basic Info is selected by default.
- On the left side of the Settings page, select Branding.
- If necessary, scroll down below the Watermark section of Manage Content Assets to view the Intro and Outro Video selections.
- Click Add Video under Intro Video.
- Use the Filestack window to locate and select the file.
Once uploaded, the image appears in the preview box.
- Repeat the above steps to add an Outro Video.
From this point forward, all videos processed will begin and / or end with the video clip(s) you provided.
If you want to stop adding intro or outro clips to processed videos at any point, turn off the slider. The file you uploaded is retained but will not be added to any newly processed videos. To replace the clip used, click the Pencil to edit the video and repeat the above steps.
