Features, Improvements, and Fixes
These Release Notes contain a summary of changes made for the February 26-27, 2025, release of EchoVideo. For changes made in previous deployments, visit the Deployment Notes section of our Knowledge Base or contact support@echo360.com.
Features
V2 Live Player
We have redesigned the Live Player to provide a better experience for your instructors and students alike. This includes new default views for In-Person or Remote viewers that focus on the individual use cases for each type of participant.
Dynamic Branding
Our branding update allows Admins to upload multiple branding assets and create & manage player styles based on them. Instructors can then select from and apply Player Styles at Section, Folder and individual Media level to allow more flexible application of branding styles.
When enabled, Dynamic Branding cannot be disabled. Consider this before toggling in your live environments.
Further Folder Enhancements
We have made multiple developments in Folders, and we now support Folder Analytics and additional Files. We have also introduced automatic Folder Provisioning, which includes user enrollment from your LMS courses and Search capability in Folders.
New Media Details Page (MDP)
We have designed a new Media Details Page that can be toggled on with the new Consolidated player. This keeps all of the same key MDP features you had with the previous one, but the User Interface has had a significant overhaul to make it easier and more intuitive.
Improvements
Updates to Beta & Preview Section
We have updated what was previously known as Beta & Preview, splitting Previews into a new page called Feature Spotlight and keeping all Beta features on the newly named Beta Features page.
Zoom: Set Minimum Duration for Recordings to Be Ingested
We have added the ability to define a minimum duration for Zoom recordings you wish to be imported, allowing you to better manage content automatically ingested to EchoVideo.
Email Notifications: Updates to Look and Feel
We have updated our email notifications to match the look and feel of EchoVideo.
Fixes
- For customers using AI Media we have updated the API endpoint used to ensure compliance.
- Moodle TinyMCE plugin updated to v1.0.8.
- Resolved an issue with Consolidated Analytics where the % Viewed column was actually displaying the average percent viewed and not the total percent viewed for a given Media. There will now be two columns in Consolidated Analytics, one displaying the average percent viewed and one displaying the total percent viewed.
- We have added additional layout styles to the Consolidated Player which addresses issues with black margins in the player.
- Term exclusion dates can now be added as a date range, as well as individual dates.
- Resolved an issue with thumbnails for IP camera in rooms page not always showing for hardware devices.
