Important Release Cycle Information
- December 13 – 14 is the last EchoVideo release of the 2022 calendar year!
- December 22nd: Final 2023 Roadmap published
We will be moving to quarterly releases for all products in 2023. The release cycles will be as follows:
- March 29 – 30 (Wednesday – Thursday)
- June 28 – 29 (Wednesday – Thursday)
- September 27 – 28 (Wednesday – Thursday)
- December 20 – 21 (Wednesday – Thursday)
All cycles will include customer UAT (User Acceptance Testing).
New and Improved
New Role Permissions for DAs and Schedulers
Administrators now have more granular control of what Designated Admins (DAs) and Schedulers have permission to do within the system. These new permissions can be configured in your Institution Settings from the Features page.
Administrators and Schedulers now have a Library
All Administrators and Schedulers now have a media Library tab that will display content and Collections specific to them.
Captures can now be associated with an Org/Dept outside of Publishing
When creating a new capture or new capture schedule within the UI, users can now select an Organization or Department. This allows the capture to be associated with an Org/Dept without also having to publish the capture into a Section.
Auto-generated Chapters Now Available for Beta testing!
Generate chapters for media content with a click. Chapters are a great way to add navigation guidance on your media. EchoVideo users an AI engine that auto-generates the chapters based on the topic at any particular time.
If you are interested in your institution being included in the Beta test group for this feature, please submit a request for access by contacting your Customer Success Representative or email product@echo360.com.
Note: Chaptering feature is not available in Australia region at this moment.
Bug Fixes and Other Improvements
- Updated the Institution Settings, Basic Info. page for Admins to use our latest UI components.
- Updated the Institution Settings, Administrators page for Admins to use our latest UI components.
- Updated the Institution Settings, Schedulers Info. page for Admins to use our latest UI components.
- For Institutions that are using AWS Transcribe as their transcription provider, we have added English (New Zealand) as a supported language.
- In the new workflow to link an LMS/VLE course to a Section within Echo that was recently released, we resolved the following:
- An issue where Classes/Lessons were showing in the selection list with the incorrect date.
- An issue where the Term, Course, Section, & Lesson selection lists were only showing up to 1000 items. This went out as a hotfix.
- Resolved an issue where clicking on a poll from within the Library failed to open the Media Details Page for the poll.
