Features
H5P Integration
Our long-awaited integration is finally here! Once enabled in the Beta and Preview section of your Institution Settings, users will be able to create H5P-specific links for content within EchoVideo. Those links can then be used within H5P just like YouTube (or other) links to create engaging content.
New Reports via the API
We have added new reporting tools to the public Reporting API, allowing users to get
- Report on devices, OS, browsers, and versions used for video viewing
media-access-metrics
- Report on playback options like volume and speed at which user watched
media-playback-metrics
- Report to see how many students watched a certain part of the video X amount of times
media-user-engagement
- Report on the top medias by share count
media-top-shares
More information on the public API in each region can be found here:

Improvements
- We have partnered with Anthology (Blackboard) to extend support of the legacy Building Block through the end of the year (30 Dec 2024). We strongly encourage Institutions that still have Building Block content to migrate content prior to the new End Of Life (EOL) date. See Building Block to LTI Migration Overview for more information.
- We have fully tested Browser Capture against the latest Apple release and fully support macOS Sequoia.
- Our Android mobile app has been updated to Android 14.
- Our time entry field now supports both the new type-in entry approach as well as the previous tabbing functionality.
- We now support M4a files for manual upload as well as automatic retrieval through the Zoom integration.
Fixes
- Copying the Media ID from the Detailed Media View within Consolidated Analytics now provides the correct style of success message.
- Resolved an issue where the Schedules V2 API endpoint could time out prior to returning results.
- Resolved an issue with Moodle where hiding the list of enrolled courses from other users could cause an API authentication error.
- The Create button is no longer shown to Schedulers when they do not have the permission to upload / create content.
Known Issues
- We have fully tested Universal Capture against the latest Apple release and have discovered an issue that we are actively working on where capturing System Audio may not work properly.
- Please also note that as of this release of macOS Sequoia, screen recording permissions are now required to be reviewed and set monthly.
